JD Vance Confesses to ‘The View’ That He’s an Epstein ‘Conspiracy Theorist’

JD Vance confesses to The View - Vice President JD Vance has been making frequent appearances across major networks this week, leveraging his platform to promote his upcoming memoir in anticipation of the 2028 presidential race. Among these engagements, his appearance on ABC’s daytime talk show “The View” stood out as a notable moment. This was a challenging setting for the VP, given the show’s reputation as a hub for critics of the Trump administration. Additionally, the segment carried political weight due to ongoing tensions between Trump’s Federal Communications Commission and ABC, which includes its parent company, Disney.

Hostile Territory and Political Pressures

Although the FCC’s scrutiny of “The View” was not discussed during Vance’s interview, the broader context of the controversy influenced the conversation. The vice president defended the current administration’s policies and skillfully avoided direct responses to the co-hosts’ critiques. Despite occasional tension, the discussion remained relatively respectful, a rare occurrence in the current media landscape.

“This show has invited thousands of guests with all kinds of diverse points of view, and we have been asking our next guest to join us for a while now, so we’re glad that he’s taken up on the offer today,” said Goldberg, introducing Vance to the audience.

Vance began the segment with a lighthearted remark, quipping, “This is a show of MAGA Republicans, right? … That’s what my media team told me.” He also encouraged viewers to purchase his book, “Communion,” though the majority of the dialogue centered on what the show refers to as “hot topics.”

Epstein Allegations and Conspiracy Claims

When questioned about Jeffrey Epstein, Vance acknowledged that Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, had privately labeled him a conspiracy theorist. “I love Susie, but absolutely, she thinks I’m a conspiracy theorist on the Epstein stuff,” he admitted, explaining his concern over Epstein’s predatory behavior and his connections to wealthy figures. “I don’t know what’s there, of course, nobody knows exactly what happened unless you were there, but that really bothered me.”

Vance repeatedly contested the co-hosts’ assertions about Trump’s past involvement with Epstein. He incorrectly claimed the relationship began “back in the 1980s,” despite evidence showing their close ties were well-documented throughout the 1990s. According to an FBI document, Trump had contacted the Palm Beach Police Department in the mid-2000s, stating, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him. Everyone has known he’s been doing this.” Vance framed this call as Trump “narced on him to the police and led ultimately to Jeffrey Epstein’s downfall,” though the investigation had already started before the call.

Stigmatization and Racial Tensions

Goldberg posed a provocative question to Vance: “What did Black people do to this administration that has allowed it to really stigmatize folks of color?” She referenced the removal of museum exhibits as an example. Sunny Hostin added, “I’m talking about Black history getting erased from public spaces. Black voter districts are being dismantled. Black leaders are being sidelined from our ranks. Where do Americans of color fit in this vision?” Vance did not provide a direct answer, but he asserted that the administration embraces “all history in this administration” and includes diverse voices in its coalition.

On Monday night, at Fox News, Vance faced a more welcoming environment. When Sean Hannity asked why the “The View” appearance was taking place, Vance responded, “You know the president — his attitude, my attitude, is you go everywhere. You try to take the message everywhere.” His promotional efforts for “Communion” seem to be paying off, as the book reached #1 on Amazon’s best-selling new releases list on Tuesday. The #2 spot was claimed by “Regime Change,” which is set to release next week.
